It has been over three years since Mac Mini was not updated by Apple. Instead of doing this, Apple is focusing on producing iMac Pro and Mac Pro to target professionals. Tim Cook has confirmed the new Mac Mini model is still in the pipeline. While waiting for it to be launched, the Taptop concept was produced by Louis Berger, an industrial design student replacing the new Mac Mini.

The most interesting thing about Taptop is the built-in Touch Bar system on the body. This brings the exclusive functionality of MacBook Pro Touch to the Mac Mini for the first time. Also included is Face ID face detection system. The user just needs to sit in front of Taptop and it will activate the screen without any input from the user.

In terms of designs it reminds us of Bean’s Pill speaker, an Apple subsidiary. What do you think about this concept?
